- Tejas fighter aircraft is an indigenously manufactured 4.5 generation combat aircraft.
- Recently the Indian Air Force has received the 2-seat Tejas fighter aircraft.
- The Indian Air Force has received this aircraft from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
- This 2-seat aircraft has all the capabilities to support the training needs of the Air Force and also plays the role of fighter if required.
- Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt was the chief guest at the handing over of ‘LCA Tejas’ to the Air Force.
- Indian Air Force HAL Has ordered 18 two-seater aircraft.
- It plans to supply eight of them during the year 2023-24.
- The remaining 10 will be supplied sequentially by 2026 – 27.
