- This scheme will be applicable to families holding yellow or saffron color ration cards.
- This scheme will be applicable to girls born after April 1, 2023.
- Under this, financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh will be provided to girls from poor families.
- The scheme was announced in the state budget 2023 – 24.
- By encouraging the birth of girls in the state, this scheme will prove to be effective in increasing the birth rate of girls, promoting girls’ education, reducing the mortality rate of girls, preventing child marriage and reducing malnutrition.
