- The primary objective of Shrestha is to expand the reach of government development initiatives and advance the advancement of Scheduled Caste students in the field of education.
- Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is the nodal ministry for this scheme.
- Students selected for this scheme will be given admission in class 9 and class 11.
- To avail the benefit of this scheme, the annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.
- Every year 3 thousand Scheduled Caste children will be selected for this scheme.
