- This scheme has recently been expanded to encompass 30 cities around the country.
- These 30 cities are spread throughout 15 states and union territories.
- This project includes the Punjab cities of Amritsar and Kapurthala.
- Earlier in the year 2018-19, this scheme was chosen for Sri Anandpur Sahib, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Chamkaur Sahib, Firozpur, Khatkar Kalan, Patiala, and Kalanaur.
- Darshan Swadesh The Central Government’s scheme aims to make tourist visits more enjoyable and memorable by improving infrastructure in historical and religiously significant towns.
- In January 2023, the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 initiative was introduced.
